From a small carpet business in the 1950s to a flooring legacy spanning nearly 70 years, the Lamb family's commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and customer service continues to serve Middle Tennessee today.

Pictured above from left to right are the four Lamb brothers—Charles, Bob, Mike, and Jerry—whose combined careers helped shape the flooring industry throughout Middle Tennessee for generations.
Since 1988, Lamb Brothers Flooring has proudly served homeowners and businesses throughout Middle Tennessee with quality craftsmanship, trusted service, and a commitment to treating customers like family.
What many people don't know is that the Lamb family's connection to the flooring industry began decades earlier and spans nearly 70 years.
The Lamb family consisted of 11 children, including four brothers who would each go on to build successful careers in the flooring industry: Charles, Bob, Jerry, and Mike Lamb.
The Beginning of a Flooring Legacy
The flooring legacy began with the oldest brother, Charles Lamb, who started
Lamb Carpet Service from a house on 16th Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, in the mid 1950s. Through hard work, determination, and a vision for growth, Charles later established The Carpet Barn in Nashville. Over time, The Carpet Barn grew into one of the largest and most recognized flooring companies in Middle Tennessee and was considered one of the leading flooring retailers in the Nashville market at the time.
Following Charles's lead, Bob Lamb entered the flooring industry at an early age. In 1958, Bob began working alongside his older brother, helping contribute to the growth and success of the family business. Years later, in 1973, Bob and a partner opened Nashville Carpet Center, further expanding the Lamb family's reputation within the Nashville flooring industry.
By the 1970s, the Lamb name had become well known throughout the Nashville flooring community, with multiple family-owned businesses helping homeowners and businesses across the region.
In the early 1970s, younger brothers Jerry and Mike often traveled from their small hometown in Kentucky to Nashville to help their older brothers with flooring installations. Working alongside Charles and Bob gave them invaluable hands-on experience and a firsthand education in the trade. Those early years helped shape the work ethic, craftsmanship, and customer-first approach that would later become the foundation of their own business.
Eventually, Jerry and Mike chose to make Mount Juliet, Tennessee their home. Drawing from years of experience and inspired by the success of their older brothers, they founded Lamb Brothers Flooring in 1988. Their goal was simple: provide quality flooring products, expert installation, honest service, and treat every customer like family.
Nearly four decades later, Lamb Brothers Flooring remains committed to those same values. Today, the company proudly serves homeowners and businesses throughout Middle Tennessee with hardwood flooring, carpet installation, luxury vinyl plank flooring, tile installation, hardwood refinishing, and water damage repair services.
Four Brothers, One Industry
Perhaps the most remarkable part of the Lamb Brothers story is that all four brothers built successful careers in the flooring industry. What began with Charles's small carpet business in the mid 1950s grew into a family legacy that helped shape the flooring industry throughout Middle Tennessee for generations.
For the Lamb family, flooring has never been just a business—it's a legacy. From Lamb Carpet Service and The Carpet Barn to Nashville Carpet Center and eventually Lamb Brothers Flooring, generations of hard work, craftsmanship, and integrity have helped build a tradition of excellence that continues today.
While much has changed over the years, one thing remains the same: a commitment to quality work, honest service, and treating customers the way we'd want our own family to be treated.
Continuing the Family Tradition Today
Mike Lamb and his children proudly carry forward a family tradition nearly 70 years in the making, honoring the legacy built by Charles, Bob, Jerry, and Mike. Today, that legacy continues through Lamb Brothers Flooring. While the flooring industry has changed dramatically over the decades, the values that built the business—hard work, honesty, craftsmanship, and treating customers like family—remain the same. It is a tradition we're proud to carry forward throughout Middle Tennessee.
In Loving Memory
This story would not be complete without honoring three of the brothers whose hard work, vision, and dedication helped build this remarkable family legacy.
